Early in the production of Winterbeast, actor Tim R. Morgan shaved off his mustache for a stage production he was also starring in. To preserve the footage already shot, a fake mustache was used for his remaining scenes. Unfortunately, the results were inconsistent and his mustache often changes shape, size and even color throughout the film. See if you can spot them all!

Produced in 1986, and released on home video in 1992, Winterbeast's delerious mix of stopmotion animated monsters, no-budget production values, and nonsensical plot, outraged many unprepared video store patrons but, at the same time, earned it a place in the hearts of schlock movie fans worldwide. Some have called it "Plan 9" for a new generation, while others have referred to it as the "Lord of the Rings" or "Star Wars" of shitty movies! Whatever you call it, fans agree that Winterbeast is one of the great party movies of all time and a guilty pleasure that can be enjoyed over and over again. .

The film exudes an absurdity that slowly hooks into your subconscious. If you’ve ever seen anything David Lynch has put to film you’ll know exactly what I mean. The human characters are awkward and clumsy, the special effects are gleefully gruesome (though unavoidably low budget) and comedy is found in all the wrong places… but it works.

Complete with deleted scenes and glimses of the reams of unseen footage that, for better or worse, never made it into the final film, the DVD includes producer/director commentary, a "Making Of" featurette, photo gallery, and more. If you've never heard of Winterbeast, only heard its name spoken in hushed, embarrassed whispers, or are among those who have gleefully (and often drunkenly) subjected themselves to multiple repeated viewings, you'll agree that Winterbeast is one movie that truely must be seen to be believed!

Winterbeast was shot along the Mohawk Trail in Western Massachusetts, the mountains of New Hampshire, and a vermin infested studio outside of Boston.
